I purchased the convertible on the 15/12/1999 from Gary West from
Wakeeney, State of Kansas, USA.
The vehicle arrived in Melbourne in April 2000, it was a driver. I was happy with the condition of the car, only had the common convertible floor rust, but very solid throughout. I took pleasure and enjoyment cruising in the car as it was with my family and friends for the next year.
In the year 2001 I made the decision to begin restoration. The law required the car to be converted it to right-hand drive and I was running my wedding car business, so this was preferable for me.
I began a full off chassis rotisserie resto. My intention was to use all right hand drive Australian components, as if it were built in Australia from factory. I handpicked and re welded the complete Aussie firewall and converted a right hand drive drag link to suit a power steering ram system with
Aussie steering box.
Accelerator pedal was left on floor position and used all factory right hand drive.
Accelerator mechanical rods. As for the transmission linkages, I used a 60’s R/H drive Chevy rod and crossover bracket, which was fitted from the bottom of the steering column to the original cast iron power glide extension housing, to shift the gears.
I used HQ Holden front disc brakes and Torana brake booster. I installed Vintage-Air air conditioning with factory controls and vents. Electric windows and electric power seat, twin aerials, continental kit, spats, front over-riders, blue tooth Wonder bar radio.
I fully rebuilt the original 283 ci engine and it is a matching numbers car.

The car was on the road and registered on 25th September 2007. It has been part of my wedding car fleet for now 13 years.
